The San Diego sheriff’s deputies search Encinitas for a man who is exposing himself to women

ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) — A North County mother is warning other women to be vigilant after a man exposed himself to her while walking his dogs.

It happened last Tuesday night in Gardendale, near Mountain Vista, east of El Camino Real in Encinitas.

“Here’s the sidewalk and he literally gets so close, and I think that’s weird, his window is down, he’s leaning in like he’s going to ask me for directions,” Brooks said.

Instead, she says that he exposed himself.

“I saw his genitalia and again he was playing with it, so his words went in one ear and out the other,” Brooks said.

She says he looked dapper, wore glasses and drove a newer red 4-door car.

“He also looked like a normal guy, he was young, between 28 and 32 years old and he didn’t look scary, but what he was doing was very shocking and scary, so everything he said went in one ear and out. the other”. Brooks said.

Brooks runs On the Edge Fitness out of his home. She has spent decades helping women feel strong and empowered, but says this incident left her vulnerable.

“I’m a strength coach, so normally I would think I’m strong, but instead of feeling strong, I froze and started shaking, it’s shocking,” Brooks said.

He reported the incident to the Sheriff’s Department and shared it with his neighbors on NextDoor. That’s when she learned that at least three other women had similar encounters in the past week and a half.

As the mother of two teenage daughters, Brooks urges women to be vigilant.

“I don’t want them to freak out, I want to see the kids go out all the time, but I think it’s important that they’re two at a time right now, especially at night,” Brooks said.

He took pictures of the man’s car from a distance and turned them over to the sheriff’s department.
