SDUHSD candidate forum to be held on October 12

The League of Women Voters of North County San Diego, the Carmel Valley High School PTSA and the North Shore Council PTA are co-sponsoring a candidate forum for San Dieguito Union High School candidates on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. This is a non-partisan event and all candidates are invited. The League of Women Voters will moderate the forum and the public will have an opportunity to ask questions.

20th Annual Safe Trick-or-Treat Event

The Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association will present its 20th annual Safe Trick-or-Treat on Monday, Oct. 31, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thousands of costumed trick-or-treaters and other revelers will stroll downtown Encinitas, known as South Coast Hwy 101, from Encinitas Blvd to K Street. F Street will be packed with a live band, booth E101, as well as a booth for event sponsor, Mooski Snacks. Many businesses in downtown Encinitas stay open late to welcome candy trick-or-treaters. Comedy ‘Into the Breeches!’ arrives in the North Coast Rep

Forming a surfboard part of the upcoming show

Eight surfboard designers will compete on Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9 during the “Icons of Foam Shape-Off,” part of the Boardroom International Surfboard Show at the Del Mar Fair, presented by US Blanks. In addition to the Shape-Off, the show will feature cutting-edge surfboards, wetsuits, fins, gear and art from the industry’s top brands. 16th Annual Kayak Fundraiser & Cleaning

The Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation (BLF) will host the 16th Annual Kayak & Cleaning on Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16. This event allows kayakers to enjoy a lagoon excursion that is normally closed to boating, while helping to preserve the lagoon’s habitat by removing trash. The cost is $150 per tandem kayak for two people and is a tax-deductible donation to BLF.

On Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16, there will be four launches of two-person tandem kayaks. Available check-in times are 7:00, 9:00, 11:15 and 13:15. Children from 6 years old are welcome to participate accompanied by a parent or guardian. Water safety guides will accompany each group to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
